What to Do When Your Stomach is Upset?

Dehydration is mainly caused by Vomiting and diarrhoea. During the initial hours of the ailment, your body loses a lot of electrolytes. Hence, you need to replenish these lost electrolytes by drinking an ORS solution. You can also drink liquids like chicken or vegetable broth. Therefore it is recommended to keep yourself full of water.


Food items that are not going to create a burning effect in your stomach should be consumed during this time. A bland and low-fat diet will keep your stomach settled. You should consider avoiding fatty and oily foods during the episode of food poisoning. You can start taking bananas, cereals to dodge stomach upsetting conditions. Due to extreme food poisoning, if you are vomiting, you brush your teeth to prevent your teeth from getting damaged by the acids secreted in the stomach.

Your body appears in a combat mode of fighting the pathogens responsible for food poisoning. Until your stomach is restored in its original condition, avoid all food that can potentially upset your stomach. Abstain from foods and liquids that can cause another episode of an upset stomach. These include fried food, alcohol, caffeine, dairy products, and fatty foods. If you are a smoker, you should try to decrease the count of cigarettes per day during this phase. Take a break and stop working since your body needs time for relaxation to recover speedily.
